Classic Kate

June 22, 2012

Timeless pieces, clean lines, and the classic cut. Catherine the Duchess of Cambridge, more commonly known as Kate Middleton, is the personification of modern day classic. Of course, she has to keep it sophisticated and classy for her role as a British Royal, but her taste stands out. From Alexander McQueen to Jenny Packham to Zara, this woman knows her style and how the power of clothes can make a difference. Not a lot of women can rock fascinators, but then again Kate is another exception to a fashion faux pas. In simple words, she keeps it stylish but simple.

She seems to be constantly  gravitating towards the much-respected fashion house Alexander McQueen and I don’t blame her. From her wedding dress, to the blush pink dress she wore to the Diamond Jubilee, Kate’s style would match that of the designer brand. She has been such a huge style icon for the past year that it makes all of us feel 5 years old again, wanting to be a princess and live in a castle with Prince Charming and all the frilly dresses we’ll ever need.

Let’s take a look back at some of my favorite outfits that the Duchess of Cambridge pulled off in her first year as a royal.

I’m a fan of Jenny Packham gowns myself. These are just some of my absolute faves.

I am a HUGE fan of preppy looks.

 And the nautical look:

(last 2 outfits are both by Alexander McQueen)

I am a fan of Kate’s style and the fact that she recycles pieces from her outfits is a respectably daring choice for that of a famous royal. Cheers to Kate!
